Nokesville

Located at the far western end of Prince William County in Northern Virginia, Nokesville is truly a step back in time. The Civil War’s Battle of Kettle Run was fought in the area in 1862. Founded in 1865 as a stop on the Alexandria Railway, the former cattle and livestock center is now known more for its quiet and friendly neighborhoods that spread out among rural farmlands.

A beautiful area with a down-home feel to it, Nokesville is home to annual parades, a Nokesville Day, holiday activities, high school parades for homecoming and plenty of high school sporting events at Brentsville High School to attend. The area also sports one of the county’s premier golf courses in Prince William Golf Course, an 18-hole regulation course that is fast becoming a center for experienced golfers and developing players alike. Many of the homes in the area are older and sit on larger acreage lots. However, the area has grown with the addition of newer planned communities such as Ashley Ridge, Fleetwood at Slate Run and Liberty Oaks.
