Ocean View

As you head West on Rt. 26 from Bethany Beach, you’ll find the distinctly Delaware town of Ocean View, which has grown in size as more people look to call Bethany Beach home. Housing here is more affordable than in nearby Bethany. The Salt Pond and Bear Trap Dunes are two well-known golf communities and the two have helped contribute to its growing population. As legend would have it, Ocean View got its name from a man who back in the early days climbed a tree and saw the ocean. It could also be seen from the second stories of some of the buildings in the village and a general store was even renamed ‘Ocean View’, hence the name evolved.
