Ashburn
If Ashburn wasn’t located within 30 miles of the nation’s capital and so close to Dulles Airport, it certainly wouldn’t be the headquarters of the Washington Commanders football franchise. But it is, so the three-time Super Bowl Champions call it home.
Ashburn’s history actually began in the 1720’s and has agrarian roots. There are no less than four landmarks in Ashburn on the National Register of History places: Belmont Plantation, Broad Run Bridge and Toll House, Ashburn Presbyterian Church Sanctuary and Janelia Farm.
Ashburn is home to many popular communities including Ashburn Farm, Ashburn Village, Belmont Country Club, Brambleton, Broadlands and Loudoun Valley Estates among many others.
Ashburn supports several recreational outlets including Brambleton Golf Course, Brambleton Regional Park, Trailside Park, Beaverdam Creek Reservoir, Ashburn Park and the Ashburn Ice House. The always popular Washington & Old Dominion Trail crosses through Ashburn and offers residents a great paved trail for walking, running and biking.
