Reston
It is not difficult to understand why Reston is internationally renowned. One of America’s most successful planned communities, there is an ever growing and busy town center, shops, restaurants, offices, hotel and movie theatre. Reston, which is home to over 60,000 people, was named to the list of Top-10 best places to live in America by CNN/Money Magazine. With its proximity to the Dulles Toll Rd, Metro’s Silver Line and Dulles Airport, there is no wonder why Reston is so desirable. There is much charm to be found throughout Reston. The beautiful Lake Anne Plaza was designed to emulate the Italian town of Portofino, including an art gallery, restaurants, Reston Historic Trust Museum and a senior citizens fellowship house. The Reston Community Center is home to the award-winning Reston Community Players. On Thursday evenings, free concerts are offered at Lake Anne Plaza. Residents of Reston will enjoy everything that Reston has to offer including 55 miles of paved pathways, 700 acres of forested land, four lakes, 15 swimming pools, 52 community tennis courts including 26 lighted courts and many other basketball courts, playing fields and parks. The Reston National Golf Course is a hotbed for developing junior golfers through its nationally renowned golf-learning center. There’s even a zoo in Reston, Roer’s Zoofari, with 30 acres, a petting zoo and giraffe and camel feedings.
