Adamstown

A sleepy town known for its varied architecture and high quality of living, Adamstown, MD is located nine miles southwest of Frederick. It sits between Point of Rocks along Rt. 15 and Urbana along I-270. Primarily a farming community in the past, it has witnessed a recent transformation with new home communities sprouting up as an affordable alternative to Frederick or Urbana. Downtown Adamstown, though modest, retains a small-town charm featuring a post office, a pizzeria and a few churches. Residents in need of provisions usually head to Frederick or Urbana for more shops, restaurants and groceries. Newer communities such as Adamstown Commons, Buckingham Hills, Green Hill Manor and Saddle Ridge dot the horizon.
