Middleburg

Welcome to horse country!  Known for its beautiful country estates, quaint downtown and strong reputation with horse lovers, Middleburg’s prestige has been made even greater over the years through some of the famous folks who have paid tribute to its zip code.  Visited frequently by President John F. Kennedy and wife Jacqueline while in office, the town has a history with the famous family. Elizabeth Taylor lived there with John Warner; Robert Duvall lives there; and Jack Kent-Cooke moved there in late 1970’s.

Approximately 43 miles from D.C., Middleburg is said to look like “a much smaller version of Old Town Alexandria” with its historic buildings and brick walkways. The name itself refers to how it was “midway on the Winchester-to-Alexandria trading route”, now known as Rt. 50.  It has been named one of the “best scenic drives within 60 miles of D.C.”  Most of the homes in Middleburg are custom built and sit on large acreage.  You’ll enjoy the quaint shops and restaurants throughout town and on the outskirts, you’ll find many wineries helping increase Loudoun County’s notoriety as ‘DC’s Wine Country’.
