Clarksburg is located in northern Montgomery County along the Interstate 270 corridor and saw tremendous growth in the real estata boom of the early 2000’s with the availability of affordable housing. It’s population is over 15,000 residents and growing! In 2017, it came into its own with the opening of the Clarksburg Premium Outlet stores. Value shoppers from Washington D.C. no longer have to travel hundreds of miles and can head to this easily accessible destination of more than 90 outlets instead.
For residents of Clarksburg, the addition of the outlets has been a boon to its economy, providing an increased job rate and opportunity for housing growth. Despite it’s extreme northern location in the county, it is still readily accessible to Washington D.C., Frederick and Baltimore due to its proximity to the major thoroughfares.
Despite its growth, Clarksburg, however, still maintains a primarily rural character with views toward picturesque Sugarloaf Mountain in abundance. Active residents also have the opportunity to take advantage of the many Clarksburg area parks that include lots of open green space, village greens, ball fields and hiking and biking trails across the area.
