Charitable Activities
Part of our team’s mission is our passion for the local communities in which we live and serve. We understand the importance of giving back to those less fortunate or those in need. Thanks to all of our wonderful clients and their continued business and support, we are able to make a donation with every home purchase or sale to Children’s Miracle Network, a RE/MAX charitable partner. The proceeds specifically benefit local Washington, DC area charities such as Children’s National Medical Center. Each year our team is one of the largest contributors to CMN amongst RE/MAX East Coast agents. Together our team has raised over $50,000 for CMN.
Joe Kurnos has contributed to CMN since 1999. In addition to a donation with each sales transaction, Joe has helped coordinate a number of charitable events such as RE/MAX Premier’s Rock-N-Ride, a one-day motorcycle ride through the beautiful hills of Northern Virginia which has raised over $60,000. As a former resident of New Jersey and a current homeowner in Southwest Florida, Joe assisted with hurricane relief efforts after Superstorm Sandy struck the New York/New Jersey area and when Hurricane Ian hit Southwest Florida. Joe also participated in a cross-country motorcycle ride to raise awareness for the Coalition to Salute America’s Heroes. Joe has also contributed to other causes including Bike MS, Alzheimer’s Walk and the Humane Society.
Byron Hudtloff also contributes to CMN with every real estate transaction. He is a passionate exercise enthusiast who enjoys participating in local athletic fundraisers such as Justin’s Beach House Run and Alzheimer’s Walk. He has twice bicycled 104 miles with Bike to the Beach, an annual one-day bike ride from Washington, DC to Dewey Beach, DE which helps raise money for autism awareness. He has raised over $5,000 for the charities. Byron and his family have for many years also been a huge supporter of Habitat for Humanity helping to rebuild hurricane damaged areas in South Carolina and helping rebuild homes and churches in impoverished areas.
Joe Donegan loves giving back to the community through volunteering with the Fairfax County high school band programs.
