Ijamsville

Located seven miles southwest of Frederick between I-70 and I-270 between Urbana and New Market is Ijamsville, MD. What was once originally a mining town and then a farming town has become what is today a suburban residential area of new communities like Oakdale Village. The Green Meadows Petting Farm is located in Ijamsville and offers programs and events for the entire family all year long. The extremely popular Whiskey Creek Golf Club, designed by two-time U.S. Open Champion Ernie Els, is a popular attraction in Ijamsville and is named for its proximity to Bush Creek. As legend would have it, this body of water was used to float barrels of whiskey down to the nearby Monocacy River by local moonshiners.
