Chantilly

Of all the northern Virginia suburban towns, Chantilly’s location next to Washington Dulles Airport makes it an ideal place to call home for the frequent traveler. Still, it is located only about 24 miles from Washington D.C., which makes it an easy commute for those working in DC or the closer-in Virginia suburbs. With a rapidly growing population, this area of Northern Virginia is actually part of both Fairfax and Loudoun Counties. The older homes in Chantilly date back to the early 1970’s while as you head west on Rt. 50, you’ll see many newer homes dotting the horizon with the largest and most popular community being South Riding. Whatever your taste, you’ll find plenty of dining and shopping opportunities along Rt. 50. The National Air & Space Museum’s Udvar-Hazy Center located by Dulles Airport is a great spot to see hundreds of historic aircraft used throughout the years. It’s also home to an IMAX theatre for movie goers who love the big screen.
