North Bethany

North Bethany is made up mainly of large picturesque homes situated just blocks from the oceanfront. It is more of a gathering of communities rather than a town itself as the Delaware seashore makes its way north from Bethany Beach to the Indian River Inlet. What make North Bethany particularly inviting are the preserved natural areas on both sides of Route 1. Residents and visitors to the region have direct access to the wide, paved paths along both shoulders of Route 1, perfect for bikers, runners and walkers and allowing for plenty of room to move about. North Bethany is also home to the Delaware Seashore State Park Fresh Pond, with access from Hickman Road, off Cedar Neck Road. The park features two walking trails, the Prickly Pear Trail, which extends more than three miles and another unnamed trail that is almost a mile long and is accessible from Route 1 at the north end of Fresh Pond.
