Accokeek

The area around Accokeek, MD was once inhabited by the Piscataway Indians giving this community its traditional vibe just 11 miles south of the Capital Beltway along Rt. 210 (Indian Head Highway). Today, the Piscataway Park and Piscataway Creek pay homage to the location’s first inhabitants. Most of the homes in the area are older and smaller single-family structures dating back to the 1930s when the area first saw substantial residential growth. Nevertheless, in Accokeek you’ll also find newer home communities such as Signature Club and the Preserve at Piscataway. The Accokeek Shopping Center –with Weis Markets, Subway, Burger King and Dunkin Donuts as main attractions – is conveniently located at the corner of Indian Head Highway and Livingston Road.
